Luca
Princiotta is the guitarist of the Italian
Heavy Metal band Clairvoyants and
the guitarist/keyboarder of the Hard Rock
band DORO, led by the German singer
Doro Pesch.
He
was born in Como on the 12 July 1982. From
'90 to '92 he took piano lessons, and when
he was 10 he started playing the classic
guitar, attending his first lessons at Seddio
Music School in Lugano (Switzerland).
One
year later the passion grew up and he moved
to the electric guitar, studying as a self-taught
for about 5 years. In 1998 he entered the
Sound Check music school in Como (Italy)
where he started learning harmony's notions
and getting familiar with Jazz and Blues
languages. Willing to improve his music
education even more, he took part
in 1999 in the “Mister Jazz” festival-clinic
in Ravenna: three days of a full-time immersion
with the legendary guitar player Scott Henderson.
From
2001 to 2003 he studied in Como's “Nerolidio”
civic Music School, attending the professional
course. Between 2004 and 2006 he studied
with the Jazz player Alessio Menconi, and
then entered Milano's prestigious “CPM”
Academy Music School, graduating two years
later in 2009.
In
2004 Luca joined the band Clairvoyants,
who released in 2009 their
debut album: “Word To The Wise”.
Their new album “The Shape Of
Things To Come” (February 2012) has
just been released and confirms the
quality of the band, getting them more
and more into the spotlight of
the rock/metal scene.
From
2004 to 2007 Luca Princiotta played with
Blaze Bayley, former Iron Maiden singer,
and through the years he's been collaborating
with many world acclaimed artists like Andre
Matos (ex Angra), Jorn Lande (ex Malmsteen),
Chris Caffery (Savatage), Dennis Stratton
(ex Iron Maiden) or Tarja Turunen (ex Nightwish),
just to mention a few. His touring has taken
him all over the world, playing in major
international cities like New York, Los
Angeles, Toronto, London, Moscow, Madrid,
São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Beijing,
Tokyo, Rome and many more.
Luca
is also producing a Rock Opera written by
Clairvoyants' front man Gabriele Bernasconi,
an ambitious project featuring many international
guests. Besides these commitments he's constantly
on tour with the multi-awarded German singer
Doro Pesch, and the new album will be ready
very soon.
